I’ll miss you, THQ

We all knew they were going, but it’s finally happened; THQ is no more.

I’m immensely saddened by this, as THQ are responsible for publishing some of my favourite games ever. Destroy All Humans!, Supreme Commander, Red Faction, Saints Row, Darksiders, Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War and Space Marine…the list goes on and on. And now it’s over.

Their owned developers will mostly live on; SEGA now owns Relic, developers of Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40K Dawn of War, Koch Media now own Saints Row developer Volition and the publishing rights to Metro: Last Light, and Crytek got dibs on Homefront.

I’m really going to miss THQ. They had a really distinct footprint in terms of style and in the games that I enjoy. And I only hope that someday they’ll pull an Atari and it’ll be their name on the boxes once again.

Well, I hope they don’t go bankrupt again like Atari did.

That's disappointing. THQ was great. I loved the Red Faction games (that I played) and a lot of their other games.
